The tail end of a ~30-day whirlwind
Is today the day I get to reflect on all my awesome experiences over the last month? No, it is not. Perhaps ... perhaps Monday will be. Until then, I just keep on chalking up more. (At least I haven't got any more five-engagements-in-three-days sprees on the short-term radar!) Then I can set up the next whirlwind! (Maybe I should leave a brief sanity break in the middle.)

Though there's a great feature tonight at the Cottage, I'm playing an exclusive show down the street at Cafe Montmartre with the Creaking Planks (maybe you can try both out?)... we've just come off of two hot engagements there (hey! I performed at the Thundering Word relaunch there, and apparently it was documented), so we look forward to stretching out a bit and not having to worry about crowding out open stage participants or being wedding-inappropriate.

Thanks be to the Rev. Lucian Rumblebucket (mark 2) for the poster. Hoist the mainsail and make way for the jug band 'o the damned! (Huh, we just got word that our Portland demo was reviewed in the Nerve! "novelty music for the humiliated"?)

If tonight ain't great for your schedule, we're also taking on Hoko's tomorrow night with everybody's favorite step-dancing keyboard-rockers, Trike!

The shopping list approach is decidedly inelegant and not terribly revelatory, but I'm too preoccupied with getting my charts in order and lining up microphone stands to do much more than inform. Entertain? Well, that depends on whether you act on the information.

...

Long stymied by the library and several bookstores, I managed to re-acquire a $4 copy of Lawrence Durrell's Reflections on a Marine Venus last night. This means that research for my mother of all text adventure games can continue apace! I feel a bit bad that I haven't been able to play and vote on more titles from this year's if-compo, but at least I shoehorned some entries into Mobygames.

I thought the Creaking Planks were particularly wedding-appropriate at Ivan/Paul and Anna's 'do -- though I can only imagine how peculiar their British guests thought the event was. I must say, though, that I would have liked to have heard soulful version's of NIN's "Closer" and other such delicate love ballads, given the occasion ;)
